After the holiday rush I decided to look for a steady year round opportunity to grow my business. I presented a sample basket to Mercedes Benz of Beverly Hills for their new car buyers and to my surprise the sales people voted for the idea. It was a great success.
For the first couple of years I would stay up after putting the kids to sleep working in the garage until late into the night. Many nights I would enlist the help of my husband in order to meet a deadline. Now that I think about it, it was a lot of hard work. Thankfully, my customers kept coming back for more year after year. They told me it was because of the unique presentation and fine gourmet foods but I believe that it is because of the individual attention that each order receives. I felt that creating every basket to our customers specifications would fulfill a need for people who are too busy to shop but really want to give a quality individualized gift. No mass produced cookie cutter gifts here. Our customers talk and we listen. That is how we went from gift idea to Basket Fantasy!
After 4 years I decided to take the show on the road and find a warehouse space because of the sheer volume of the holiday orders.
My family would no longer put up with baskets in the hall, baskets in the living room, baskets in every free space in the house and garage. Around the same time I decided to expand my business to include promotional items, wedding favors, gifts and fresh flowers. Each item that I introduced was received with as much enthusiasm as the last. And as they say “the rest is her story”!
I am proud to say that I have been in business for now 20 years!
